Mike knew that his future would be in medicine as he was being trained as a US Navy Hospital Corpsman. Following advanced training in combat medicine and neuropsychiatry, he was hooked.
After the Navy, he attended the University of Florida where he majored in microbiology and subsequently attended the UF Physician Assistant Program where he was elected as the student representative to Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. He graduated with honors in 1984.
Since that time, he has developed a well-rounded repertoire of experience in family medicine, internal medicine, neurology and pain management. He moved from neurology directly into pain management as a logical extension of that discipline and has been focused on studying and treating painful conditions during the past four years.
Mr. Thomas is currently board certified by the NCCPA and is a fellow member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He is also the president of Space Coast Clinicians, an educational and networking group.
